Recent Success Story
One of our favorite things is to hear success stories from patients and in this case from a hearing loss patient:
Imagine him, he's your average, cute 75 year-old man. He's kind, but impatient and frustrated because he feels disconnected.
When he goes out to eat with family he watches their faces light up with laughter as they laugh and joke. But he wonders....What is it that they are talking about? He leans forward for a while because he can hear the sounds, but he has more and more trouble making out the words.
Finally, he leans back in his chair and folds his arms, tired of asking "What? What?"
He came to us not wanting hearing aids, but his daughter insisted on him trying them. So he reluctantly got the hearing aids to keep his daughter happy. (Like I said he is very kind)
But, when he came back two weeks later for a follow up, you should have seen his face. There was more light, more life, more connection in his interactions.
We didn't have to ask...but, finally we did. "How are the hearing aids?"
He smiled big as he leaned in close to whisper, "If everybody could hear like this, there wouldn't be any more secrets in the world."
